Manifesting Through Intention
When I was a young Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy after returning to our home-port in San Diego after a 6-month stay in Japan I told most of my Division shipmates, I intend to go back to Japan, live and work there. Most of them laughed at me. Little was known at that time about manifesting abundance or realizing ones dreams through the power of intention.
As the time neared to leave Japan I let my Japanese friends in on the fact that I intended to come back as a civilian. Most nodded and smiled but secretly doubted my plan and probably thought I was just young and foolish. Perhaps their attitude was what led me to pursue my intention to return.
Even after mustering out of the service I used my vivid imagination to visualize myself back in Japan with my friends. I could see us going all around Yokohama where I planned on setting up my residency and when a year had gone by I found myself actually back there. Visualizing on a daily basis had resulted in a sought-after manifestation. I had an apartment and work in Yokohama just as I had visualized. The power of intention worked.
During my twelve year residency in Japan I met and married my Japanese wife. She bore me two beautiful AmerAsian children who are the love of my life. As wonderful as my life was I was still ignorant why the things in my life had come to pass. The power of intention had manifested my situation but I was to stay oblivious to its workings for some time to come.
Manifesting a New Job
Years later after bringing my family back to the States I found myself in a position of wanting to get a better job because the one I had was proving to be inadequate. Anyway, I picked up a copy of the local Yellow Pages and began thumbing through it. I just knew I could find a job that would meet my family’s needs.
I saw a display ad for an overhead door company and couldnt for the life of me understand what an overhead door was. So I called the company and asked the guy who answered the phone what one was. He explained that it was a roll-up door like on a garage or commercial building. Then he asked me why I would call and ask such a question.
So, I let him know that I was looking for a job from the Yellow Pages. He was surprised when I told him that I would have a job by the end of the week and asked me a lot of questions. Then out of the blue he suggested I visit his office that afternoon for a face-to-face interview. He said my attitude and determination impressed him.
I noticed and liked the working uniforms of everyone and visualized myself wearing the same. By this time I really wanted a job there and my intention to work there must have been really powerful because the boss created a position for me and had me start right away.
Not understanding how the power of intention had gotten me the job so quickly I was still happy about it. It really does work! Now of course, there are a lot of books on the subject of intention and the Law of Attraction, too. Ignorance is bliss I guess because I was benefiting by that power again.
I’ve been acquainted with a lot of nay-sayers in my lifetime that would attribute these life-changing incidents to sheer coincidence. At this time in my life I know better. Having read several books, watched videos and listened to CDs on the subject I understand and apply the lessons of the power of intention and the law of attraction to my every-day life.
SO, WHAT DO I INTEND TO DO NEXT?
Well, I intend to continue working from home. I intend to write more, make my Internet business even more successful and help others attain their goals. I also intend to reside full-time in my beautiful home in a small town in the northern mountains of Panama. I intend to invite my children to visit or live with me and to play with my granddaughter. I also intend to become a better person, a better friend and a better father.
How to Make Your Meditation Room More Relaxing
A quiet room is really all you need in order to meditate. But some people like a few extras to enhance their surroundings and help calm them down. Here are some tips to help you create a meditation room that’s the ultimate in relaxation.
Once you have a space in your home that you have established as your meditation room, you can start setting the mood. For starters, make sure there’s no clutter so it’s as stress free as possible. The room should have adequate space for whatever you plan to sit on. Benches, cushions, mats and chairs are all common meditation perches. Meditation chairs are also very popular. They enable you to keep your back straight and prevent you from slumping during meditation.
A couple of small tables will be very useful in your meditation room. They’re great for holding incense, candles and a music player. These tables are also useful for holding photos or prints. Images of nature such as the ocean, rain forest, mountains or clouds are very relaxing for many people.
You should also consider the lighting in the room so you create a suitable environment. Try installing a dimmer on your light switch or lamp. Candles placed throughout the room are another good option. Scented candles in particular can add a lot to the atmosphere. But if you already have incense burning, stick with unscented candles or you’ll have too many competing aromas.
For background music, try out a few options like nature sounds or quiet music. The sounds of whales, water music or the wind whistling through the trees are all soothing sounds. Keep experimenting until you find the perfect relaxing sounds that don’t distract you.
Some people find that scented candles and incense are too overwhelming. Flowers are a great alternative, however. Find a minimalist vase and fill it with flowers from the florist or cut some fresh ones from your own garden. For many, having flowers in the room provides a real sense of relaxation.
If you travel regularly, you can continue your routine by taking your meditation gear with you. Get an inflatable cushion and a few travel candles and stash them in your bag. Upload your favorite meditation music to your iPod, and you’ll have everything you need to practice your meditation techniques.
When you create a relaxing environment, it’s easy to close your eyes, clear your mind and then leave feeling completely refreshed.
