Strength Training Anatomy - making yourself stronger

Strength training is all about making yourself stronger. But it is actually more about strengthening your core. And don’t think that core training involves just your abdominal muscles because it doesn’t. There are other muscles that make up your core, so you have to focus on them as well.

You’ll find that in strength training you must also work on the muscles that are in your torso. Your upper spine and neck are involved as well. In a big way you can think of all of these muscles as your “center,” which is why they make up your “core.”

Strength training involves working these very muscles. You can do exercises that involve you bracing yourself with your arms. Anything dealing with “bridges” or other floor exercises will work. Take push-ups, for instance. Push-ups are a great exercise that you can do and you don’t even need weights to do this core exercise.

Many strength training exercises involve the use of weights. There are many pieces of weight equipment at the local gym or available for purchase that will help you strengthen your abdominal, torso, and back muscles. Many individuals prefer using exercise equipment over doing strength training without weights. This is because they feel like they are being more productive with their exercises. They can feel their muscles being worked, which is why some individuals prefer it this way.

Others simply prefer to do strength training exercises in the comfort of their home without weights. It is also more affordable this way but, again, it is a personal preference. So what this means for you is that you can do strength training any time that you want. Whether it is push ups, leg lifts, or another exercise that works on the muscles within your core, you are doing your body a lot of good.
